About Paul Baldassini

Paul Baldassini was born in Quincy, Massachusetts and now resides with his family in Middletown, CT. From the late 1970s up until the mid-1990s, Paul owned and managed Paul Baldassini Graphic Design in Boston’s Back Bay, and along with a dedicated and creative staff, provided graphic design and advertising services to a diverse range of clients, including corporate, private and non-profit organizations. He continues to provide graphic design and advertising services including design and production of print and web-based media to a select group of clients.

As a professional graphic artist, designer, typographer, photographer and fine artist, Paul has been working with graphic images for over 30 years. An expert in digital imaging including photo restoration, photo retouching and photo compositor, he also offers individual and group instruction on digital imaging techniques for print and web graphics on a consultative basis. Paul began his photo restoration career retouching black-and-white publicity stills for stage artists — ballet dancers, musical theater actors, and singers. Later, after the introduction of the “digital toolbox” he specialized in retouching and compositing advertising product and people photography and illustration destined for print media.

While Paul learned his craft in the days of airbrushes, compressed air, retouching pan colors, frisket paper and acetate stencils, he became one of the first graphic artists in New England to embrace the emerging digital technology, quickly realizing its potential for both his commercial and personal work.

Today, using a sophisticated graphic workstation and associated professional imaging equipment and technology, Paul acts as a "digital craftsman", working with individuals and commercial clients.

Paul received a BFA in Illustration/Graphic Arts from Massachusetts College of Art, and taught intermediate and advanced digital graphic arts workshops in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator at Massachusetts College of Art Continuing Education as a Senior Instructor from 1999–2004, in addition to corporate, academic & private instruction & consultation.
