PRESS RELEASEPaul Baldassini Photo Restoration & RetouchingCentral Connecticut State UniversityPortrait Photo Painting CommissionsBring Your Company's (or Organization's) History to Life: Preserve Your Leadership LegacyPhoto Restoration and Digital Artist Paul Baldassini recently completed Photo Painting commissions of four of the original university presidents for the CCSU Office of the President. They are:John D. Philbrick, President 1849 - 1855 Homer Sprague, President 1866 - 1867 Isaac Carleton, President 1869 - 1881 Clarence Carroll, President 1881 - 1894 The large (30 x 34 inch average) size original photographs were captured to digital format using a Hasselblad 2 1/4" camera with a Sinar Digital back. They were then retouched and restored in Adobe Photoshop CS, opened in Corel Painter X and digitally "painted". As an accomplished painter in traditional oil and watercolor media as well as digital media, Paul was able to digitally "paint" strikingly realistic oil portraits from the restored photos using a digital tablet and stylus along with the sophisticated digital brushes and digital wet media of Corel Painter X. The final paintings were output to artist's canvas using a large format inkjet printer, then stretched over traditional stretcher bars, sealed and given two coats of synthetic oil varnish. Paul is available for Photo Restoration/retouching and Photo Painting commissions and can be reached in his Connecticut studio at 860-638-0890.
